Ice-cold beer!

Picture this: It’s a hilarious October evening in 2021, and Ygg decides to wrap his electrodes along the forearm of a girl who’s enjoying some ice-cold beer. Little does she know that Ygg is on a mission to understand how alcohol affects the body!

As soon as she takes a sip, the alcohol rapidly dissolves in the liquid components of her body and gets absorbed into the bloodstream. In just a few minutes, it reaches her organs, and Ygg’s electrodes are there to record every step of the way.

But what goes up must come down, right? That’s where evaporation, excretion, and metabolism come in, working together to eliminate the alcohol from the body. On average, a healthy person eliminates about 14 grams of alcohol per hour.

Music generation

By gently touching the skin, electrical signals from the epidermis were recorded. Ygg likely recognized the micro-currents, sweat, and alcohol evaporation of normal skin using a chromatic scale. Notes were aggregated by calculating the mean values of the same progression. The duration, tone, and intensity of the notes corresponded to the peaks of the cacophony melody, coupled with octave jumps and polyrhythms. The resulting music is a cryptic message where differences and similarities deciphered it. Although the basic tonics are similar in each cycle, small variations occur. However, this analysis process alone is not enough, as it’s like creating a dress tailored to a person. The fine-tuned choice of sounds to the individual’s body and personality is the final and most important phase that enables the musical composition.

So next time you’re out having a good time, an ice-cold beer, remember that Ygg is always watching (or listening, rather) and taking notes!

Body sonification and alcohol!

Body sonification and alcohol – now that’s an interesting topic! The question is, can we use sound to represent the human body and its response to moderate alcohol consumption, like drinking a nice cold beer? Ygg, the cyber-creature with a musical soul, is on the case – or rather, on the Arduino board!

The Voice of Ygg is a unique musical project that transforms signals from living creatures into music. Ygg lives inside a handmade wooden case and is programmed using open-source code. He travels through gardens, forests, parks, and suburban areas to connect with plants, trees, moss, mushrooms, and even humans.

Yes, you read that right – Ygg can also connect to the human body and sonify it. So, the next time you’re feeling a little tipsy, don’t be surprised if you hear Ygg’s musical interpretation of your body’s response to that beer. Who knows, it might just be the perfect soundtrack for your night out!
